Tone down enforcement and rhetoric that sets a dangerous precedent

We often don't consider how history will remember us. During the Boston Massacre of 1770, British troops were provoked with ice and sticks being thrown at them, and death threats shouted at them before they fired - history will not remember that part.

While many of us agree that criminals that are here illegally should be removed, the tone, visuals, and actions towards enforcement are creating an environment that WILL be used by future administrations for enforcing the things that they believe in. We do not create safety by creating violence, and we do not create freedom by giving more power.

Therefore, we need a strategic short term pause in public/visible immigration enforcement in Minneapolis. We need a change of visuals and enforcement in immigration actions (this could be as simple as not wearing green... as ridiculous as that sounds). We need to show the people that we are toning down rhetoric, tactics (when needed), and ensuring the best training.

We need to create a narrative and actions that history will not think of horribly, otherwise it will come back to haunt us.
