The Executive Director of Army Cemeteries and National Arlington Cemetery made a decision to cancel the laying of wreaths on the tombstones of our fallen heroes and military veterans on December 19th because they consider it "unsafe" due to COVID-19. Meanwhile, celebrations have occurred over the past few weeks for Joe Biden in addition to marches for Donald Trump. Yet, the honorable tradition of paying respect and honor to our military around Christmas, in our most sacred ground across America, has been cancelled. They gave their lives on the beaches of Normandy, fell in battle on the island of Iwo Jima, spilled blood in the streets of Baghdad and the mountains of Afghanistan, stood side by side with comrades in the jungles of Vietnam and Korea, manned the guns of ships on December 7th, 1941 to defend Pearl Harbor, rode their flaming aircraft to the ground over Germany and the Pacific, but yet we are unwilling to create a way to ensure they are honored this holiday season.
Let them know you want to lay wreaths for our heroes in 2020.
