We, the undersigned residents of the City of Flagstaff, oppose Eva Putzova's petition calling for an ordinance to shield illegal migrants from Federal Immigration authorities. If implemented, her proposed ordinance would serve as a beacon drawing criminal migrants, violent gang members, human traffickers, and drug dealers into Flagstaff for protection from Federal law enforcement. A sudden population influx would expose unprotected and vulnerable migrants (with no citizenship rights) to subjugation and victimization with no legal recourse. Ill-prepared migrants will require food, housing, and financial support at city taxpayers’ expense. As evidenced in San Antonio, TX, Aurora, CO, Seattle, WA, Springfield, OH, and other communities, our city will see increased crime, overwhelming our local law enforcement and social services. The threat to businesses and citizens’ safety is real. Ms. Putzova’s proposed ordinance does not assure that criminals won’t be protected from deportation. We call on the City Council to revisit their sworn oath to represent the citizens and businesses of Flagstaff. Please reject Ms. Putzova’s irresponsible petition and make the citizens of Flagstaff your first priority.

Merle and Karen Henderson reject the Eva Putzova Ordinance.
NO sanctuary city in Flagstaff
Hell No
no sanctuary in Flagstaff
I strongly oppose and reject the Eva Putzova Ordinance.
The City Council should acknowledge receipt of the petition and reject it because it is not in the best interest of the Flagstaff community and its surrounding Community area. While we can not prevent anyone from coming to our community, we certainly must not invite law breakers to assume it’s OKAY in Flagstaff. The ensuing costs would not only affect Flagstaff but the immediate County areas. The Flagstaff City Council must consider what effects any of its actions have on the entire community of Flagstaff, prior to taking any action of any kind. It’s easier to keep the door closed than to open it, then try to close it without harm to the City Council.
