To Avon Town Council President Dawn Lowden, Avon Town Council Vice President Robert Pope, Council Member Greg Zusan, Council Member Aaron Tevebaugh, and Council Member Steve Eisenbarth:

Whereas, facial coverings have not been proven to stop the spread of the COVID 19 virus;

Whereas, mandated facial coverings in the state of Indiana have had no proven correlation to lower coronavirus deaths and hospitalizations;

Whereas, mandated facial coverings in the state of Indiana have had no proven correlation to lower coronavirus positivity numbers;

Whereas, facial coverings used improperly have been known to spread bacterial infections such as bacterial pneumonia;

Whereas, persons who desire to wear facial coverings are free to wear facial coverings if mandates are not in place;

Whereas, some individuals cannot wear facial coverings due to medical reasons;

Whereas, Avon Town owned buildings are tax payer funded;

Whereas, Avon Town owned buildings are not only funded by those who wish to mandate masks;

Therefore, Members of the public should have freedom to choose whether or not to wear facial coverings in Avon Town owned buildings.

Therefore, I urge you NOT to mandate face coverings in Avon, Indiana, but instead, to confirm masking as an individual choice, even in town owned buildings.
