I understand people wanting to name a road after a former President, I even expect that, but renaming of roads is a huge pain for not only those that live on it, but for everybody that lives, works, and regularly visits that town. In my last town they estimated the cost would be rather high to the city and the cost to each person in time & money to update their address would also be difficult for a lot of the residents. Now, if you want to double name the road, I wouldn’t have such an issue with it. Go ahead and add his name to the existing list of names. We’ve seen that before, then people don’t have to go through the hassle of changing their address if they don’t want to. It is still a headache for the Post Office and other delivery companies and the GPS companies, and signs still have to be updated, but it is an easier transition. Also, know that you need 100% of approval from residents living on that road & 50% approval from all other property owners, so those are the people you need to be talking to and getting their signatures with proof of ownership.
